White Buffalo (1977)
White Buffalo (1977)
Charles Bronson stars as Wild Bill Hickock in this fantasy western where he is hunting an albino buffalo he saw in a dream.
The film opens with Bill on the Cumbres & Toltec (playing the Union Pacific RR), riding in one of the antique wood coaches.
As the train pulls into the "Cheyenne" (actually Chama, NM) depot alongside a mountain of buffalo bones, we see UP #83 (actually C&T #483) at the head. This film was the engine's last before retirement. The rest of the consist that I can gather is Baggage #159 (as UP#853), Combine #181 (also in Showdown), and the ever-popular Hinman Coach #284 (here as UP #105 with random windows covered). The coaling tower and water tower can be seen beyond the bone pile.
