Showdown (1973)
Showdown (1973)
Rock Hudson and Dean Martin star as two childhood friends who end up enemies later in life.
The film opens with some spectacular scenery along the Cumbres & Toltec. The train consists of Engine #484, Baggage #142, Combine #181 and Hinman Coach #284.
The first shot appears to be Tanglefoot Curve at Cumbres Pass.
Soon the train reaches a roadblock and stops, allowing our robbers to make their move! I haven't been able to find much info about the cars, other than Coach #284 is restored and still in use at Georgetown Loop RR. Engine #484 is still operational at C&T.
Cumbres Section House looking as good as ever as the train arrives.
We catch a glimpse of the coaling tower at the Chama yard later, as well as another great pass-by shot of the train.
Chuck (Hudson) and Kate (Susan Clark) ride in the cab of the engine to make their way to town to save the day.
