High Noon (1952)
High Noon (1952)
Classic western starring Gary Cooper, as a town marshal who must face a gang by himself.
The church featured heavily in the film is St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 18473 Gardner Avenue in Tuolumne.
"Hadleyville" town scenes as the bad guys come to town were shot at "Western Town A" on the Columbia Ranch backlot in Burbank. This set was torn down years later, and the site later became Warner Ranch.
The train depot was built for the film next to an existing water tower at Warnerville, off the Sierra RR line in Tuolumne County, CA. None of these structures remain today. This same location was used years earlier in Dodge City.
In a few shots we can catch some glimpses of Main Street in Columbia City, CA - now preserved as a State Park.
As the train arrives we catch a great view of Sierra's star engine #3, followed by Combine #5, Coaches #2 and 6. Grace Kelly is seen boarding Coach #2.
The big duel takes place back at Columbia/Warner Ranch...
...cut in with shots of the train pulling out.
There are also some quick shots of Columbia City mixed in.
