I believe that destiny guides us toward our true purpose. As a first-generation doctor, I had always envisioned myself as a clinician. After completing my MBBS and gaining hands-on experience in the Department of Emergency Medicine, I transitioned to a role as a non-academic Junior Resident in the Department of Community Medicine. These experiences opened my eyes to the broader picture—the importance of preventing illness rather than only treating it.
This realization led me to choose MD in Community Medicine as my specialty. I am particularly interested in the rising burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), while also remaining keenly aware of the persistent challenges posed by infectious diseases. My curiosity drives me to stay updated on emerging healthcare technologies and public health strategies. I regularly follow discussions on medical Twitter, which offers a unique lens into evolving clinical and public health trends—and sometimes, I simply allow myself the space to do nothing, reflecting and recharging.
