Dr. Imran Tusar established and currently leads the Advanced Industrial & Manufacturing Systems (AIMS) Lab at Bowling Green State University. The lab currently includes a dedicated team comprising a postdoctoral researcher and six graduate students, working collaboratively on innovative research at the intersection of industrial engineering, manufacturing, and data science.
AIMS Lab is committed to advancing the science of efficient, resilient, and intelligent manufacturing and supply chain systems. The research integrates computational modeling, data-driven analytics, optimization techniques, and experimental design to solve real-world industrial problems.
Core areas of focus include:
Smart manufacturing systems and Industry 4.0 applications
Sustainable and circular supply chain design
Predictive maintenance and reliability engineering
Simulation and digital twin modeling
Energy-aware and cost-optimized production planning
AI and machine learning applications in industrial systems
The lab actively collaborates with academic, government, and industry partners to drive impactful, interdisciplinary research. Through innovation, mentorship, and applied research, AIMS Lab aims to contribute to the next generation of industrial engineering solutions that are not only efficient but also sustainable and socially responsible.
