Research

My research interests focus on two main areas in philosophy, which are reflected in my published work:

• Philosophy of Religion: The relationship between faith and reason; religious epistemology; religious diversity; religious pluralism

• Islamic Philosophy: The history of philosophy (Ar. falsafa) and scholastic theology (Ar. kalam) in Islam; the role of philosophy in classical and contemporary debates about religious matters in Islam; the relationship between Islamic philosophy and the broader Western philosophical tradition

I also have an abiding interest in all the central problems of philosophy.
