I discovered a practice called 5 by 5 inspired from medical research for brain health from UT Dallas. It is taking five minutes, five times a day to unplug to be energized and engage to stay focused during tasks. I’ve noticed when I take a few minutes to step away from the frenzy it changes the frequency, my energy and ultimately is a great stress reliever.
I love to go outside a couple times a day, enjoy fresh the air, walk around my backyard, and refocus. Sometimes I discover something new like a beautiful iris bloom or hear the birds flittering around. I encourage you to develop simple everyday self-care practices especially to navigate challenging times with purpose and intention.
