# Privacy Policy — ImproveMe

ImproveMe ("the app", "we") is a personal‑growth tracker for health, wealth, learning and

goals. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. **ImproveMe is built to keep

your data on your device.** Please replace the bracketed placeholders before publishing.

## The short version

- Your health, finance, learning, goal, to‑do and document data is **stored locally on your

  device only**. We do not run a server that collects or receives it.

- We do **not** sell your data, and we do **not** use it for advertising.

- Signing in and the optional weather feature involve limited data as described below.

## Information the app handles

### Data you create (stored on your device)

Steps, exercise, meditation and sleep entries; accounts, transactions, loans and

investments; learning items and study minutes; goals and to‑dos; and any documents you add

to User Docs (e.g. policies, medical bills, prescriptions). This information is stored in the

app's private storage on your device and is **not transmitted to us or any third party**.

### Account sign‑in

You can create a local account (email + password, stored on your device) or sign in with

Google. If you choose Google Sign‑In, Google provides the app with your **email address and

display name** to identify your account. This exchange is handled by Google under

[Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy). We store your name and email

locally to show who is signed in; we do not share them with anyone else.

### Optional weather feature

If you enter a city and an OpenWeatherMap API key, the app sends that **city name** to

OpenWeatherMap to fetch the local forecast. This feature is optional and off until you

## Device permissions

- **Physical activity (ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION):** optional, used only to count your steps from

  the device's step sensor. Step data stays on your device.

- **Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):** optional, used to send reminders and achievement

  alerts you enable.

- **Biometric/fingerprint:** optional, used only to unlock the app locally.

## Data sharing

We do not share, sell, or rent your personal data. The only third parties involved are Google

(for optional Google Sign‑In) and OpenWeatherMap (for the optional weather feature), each used

only for the purpose described above.

## Data security

Network requests (Google Sign‑In, weather) use encrypted HTTPS connections. Your app data is

stored in Android's app‑private storage. You can add an optional PIN or fingerprint lock.

## Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or **uninstall the app**, which

removes all locally stored data. To delete individual items, use the delete controls in the app.

## Children

ImproveMe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

## Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
