Meet Sierra — Owner & Head Trainer at Impression K-9

Hi, I’m Sierra, the owner and lead trainer behind Impression K-9 and Von Haus Salazar Kennels. My passion for dogs runs deep — from working with advanced-level protection and service dogs to helping everyday owners build a stronger bond with their companions through structure, communication, and trust.

At Impression K-9, I specialize in balanced training methods that create reliable, confident, and well-mannered dogs. I work with a variety of dogs and handlers — from basic obedience and behavioral improvement to psychiatric and medical alert service dogs. My goal is always to help both dog and owner communicate clearly and work together as a team.

Alongside Impression K-9, I run Von Haus Salazar, a kennel focused on the preservation and responsible breeding of German Shepherds — producing dogs with strong nerves, sound temperaments, and solid working ability.

I’m also a proud handler myself. I currently have:

• A fully trained service dog and a service dog in training

• A Level II personal protection dog

• A dual-purpose Level II protection and human remains search & rescue dog
  
  

These incredible partners not only work alongside me but continue to inspire the training programs I develop for others.

Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience with protection, service, search and rescue, and military working dogs. I’ve had the opportunity to train alongside experts in personal and estate protection, police K9, and military apprehension work — experiences that have shaped my knowledge and strengthened my hands-on approach to training.

For the past several years, I’ve offered virtual training programs to help clients nationwide, and as I expand into in-person training in 2026, I’m beyond excited to bring that same level of dedication and professionalism to local clients.

One day, my dream is to open a walk-in training facility where handlers and dogs of all backgrounds can come together to learn, grow, and succeed.
