Dr. Jessica Menold is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering and a co-hire with the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS). She is the director of the Digital Twin Hub in the ICDS where she directs research at the intersection of AI, Digital Twins, and Computational Science across the Pennsylvania State University. She is also the Director of the Center for Immersive Experiences and the Director of the Technology and Human Research in Engineering Design Lab. Her research focuses on improving the interpretability of humans for AI and robotic systems by studying behavioral, verbal, and non-verbal cues exchanged in human-human and human-AI groups. Her overarching research goal is to build AI systems that understand nuanced behavioral cues emitted by humans that are capable of responding accordingly.
