I love to work in a variety of medium and techniques. From embroidery and ceramics to sketching and painting and sometimes even doodling on my shoes, I am always experimenting to find new ways of acheiving a desired style.
At the moment, I am primarily focused on lino printing, a form of printmaking using a clay - like block to create impressions and print onto a variety of medium.
I took a few photos to breifly show my process:
I usually start with a really rough sketch to dump my ideas for the print down. Sometimes i'll use cheap markers to highlight the colours I'm hoping to use.
Next, I'll transfer my sketch to a piece of lino (remebering to flip the design so when I print it, it isn't back to front!) I'll then cut it out, thinking about which part of the design I wish to be shown on the paper.
I then mix water based inks to acheive the desired colour before applying it to the lino block.
Et voila! When dry, I package the prints and send them off.
