While an immersion is not a cure-all or a replacement for ongoing therapy, the intensive format can help couples to see the potential for change (find hope!), connect around their deeper needs (bonding!), and see their stuck patterns more clearly, with more ownership instead of blame.
This format accelerates those changes, rather than the many months it normally takes in conventional weekly therapy sessions. As a clinician, I find the format deeply rewarding and I get great feedback from my couples that while initially, two days of therapy sounded too long, they cannot believe how fast the day goes and after doing it once they could imagine doing this every year to keep going deeper into healing and rebuilding their relationship.
We first meet together for a 50-minute planning session a few weeks or even a month or two before we plan the intensive. The intensive schedule is usually over two days, either a consecutive Wednesday-Thursday, Thursday-Friday, Friday-Saturday, or Sunday-Monday. The sessions are usually about five to six working/therapy hours each day, with a long lunch, and two smaller breaks mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
The start time is usually 9:00 am and end time around 4:00 pm, but the schedule can be moved an hour earlier or later if needed to accommodate your schedule, or a longer lunch break if needed (on your own each day). I also offer a 30-minute follow-up sometime a few weeks after the intensive as part of the package to help you integrate the work and/or transition the themes to your next therapist.
The cost of the relationship intensive is typically around $3300-$4500 depending on how much preparation and follow-up time is needed. A deposit of $2000 is required to hold your scheduled dates, and payment is due in full two weeks before the intensive. If you like, you can do a follow-up day (an additional $2100) or half-day a few months later to refresh or go deeper into the same topics, or an additional shorter 50 or 80-minute appointments to help you bridge our work into your work with another relationship counselor (at my normal rate of $300 for a 55 min session). I have couples who come in quarterly or annual for a "relationship tune up". One couple calls it their "annual relationship exam" as part of preventative maintenance to clean out and spruce up their relationship "house".

Due to the investment of time and money, I do offer a free 30-minute video screening meeting to answer your questions and help us all assess if this format and my approach are a good fit for your needs.
Please take a look and see if my training and this immersion approach might be a fit for you. While expensive, an immersion is like putting on a new roof for your relationship or building a strong physical foundation - it is an investment in your health and happiness that will last many years.
If this format is not ideal for you, or you would like to do the immersion but also schedule follow-up/ongoing therapy after finishing the intensive, I have a few wonderful colleagues at my clinic, Puget Sound Psychotherapy (PSP) who are currently taking new clients and who have a similar EFT/Gottman background and training. Please reach out to learn more about those options.
As part of the Gottman Method and the EFT treatment models, I video record all of my sessions to improve my skills and to help me provide you with better therapy. If recording is a concern, please address this before scheduling. If you have any questions about my methodology or how I work, I welcome your email or call.
