# Imgvy Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Imgvy is a browser extension that converts images between formats. This policy explains what happens to your data.
## Summary
Imgvy does not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal data. All conversion happens locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
## What Imgvy processes
- **Images you add** (by selecting, dragging, pasting, or using the right-click menu). They are read and converted entirely on your device, in memory. They are not uploaded to any server, ours or anyone else's.
- **Converter settings** (chosen format, quality, background colour, size). These are saved only in your browser's local storage so they are remembered next time. They are not sent anywhere.
## What Imgvy does not do
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or telemetry.
- No accounts, cookies, or user identifiers.
- No remote code: all code ships inside the extension package.
- No collection of browsing history or page content.
- No sale or transfer of data to third parties.
## Permissions
- **contextMenus**: adds the Imgvy entry to the right-click menu on images.
- **downloads** (optional): saves a converted file when you choose "Save as" from the right-click menu. Requested only when you first use that feature.
- **Site access** (optional, per site): when you right-click an image and choose a conversion, Imgvy asks for access to the site that hosts that image, only to read that single image so it can be converted locally. It is not requested at install and no other page content is read.
## Network use
Imgvy makes a network request only to fetch an image you explicitly chose from the right-click menu, directly from the site that hosts it. No data is sent to the developer.
## Children
Imgvy collects no data from anyone, including children.
## Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
