I was at Cheap Trick at the Pier when I was 19 in the summer of 1982.
At the end of their set Rick announced "see you at The Ritz".
We were like ... huh?
We find out they are playing a secret show there.
We rush there and get in before it's sold-out and I hear "Chuck", it's legendary Aerosmith engineer Rod O'Brien, who also was my older cousin.
We start chatting and Steve Tyler in all his 1982 "glory" comes over.
I am ecstatic because I fn love Aerosmith.
Rod goes "Oh no" ... I didn't get it just yet ... I soon did.
Steven stumbles over and mumbles stuff nobody could understand.
I am 19 and next to ... STEVE FN TYLER ...holy shit.
Rod sees I an excited to meet him and introduced me.
Steve grabs me, kisses me, bear hugs me and we both almost fall down.
He whispers, watch me fuck with your cousin ...
I just nodded because it was a bit overwhelming to be hugged and kissed and whispered into my ear by STEVE FN TYLER.
Steve grabs Rod by the head and goes "show your cousin how to party" and tries putting bunch of small white pills in his mouth.
Rod is fighting him off and they start wrestling and eventually hit the ground.
Steve is yelling "party you pussy, do it for your cousin" as they are rolling on the floor.
My cousin wasn't big, smaller than me, but a tough Westie from Hells Kitchen ... he hits Tyler and the pills go everywhere.
Bouncers come running and they see Steve laughing in hysterics.
Rod is fn pissed and I am just completely confused.
Bouncers realize everything is ok and Steve is still laughing and sees a pill on the floor ... picks it up and puts it in his mouth and screams ... I JUST LOVE TIC TACS ...they were fn tic tacs.
Steve hugs me and grabs another tic tac off the floor and goes "show your cousin you are not a pussy" and put it in my mouth.
Rod was like "you are a fn idiot Steve" and Tyler is hysterical as he is walking away.
Later that night he did 'Cold Turkey ' by John Lennon with Trick ...
"Oh, I'll be a good boy
Please make me well
I promise you anything
Get me out of this hell"
Ironic, don't ya think?
I was 19. As silly as it sounds, I knew I wanted IN. I met Maiden and Steve Tyler the same summer ... I had to be IN the industry because I fn loved it
I wasn't sure exactly how, until I was asked to take over L'Amour ...

This is the story of CHUCK KAYE - "The Roar Of L'Amour": A man in dire health, who is "the conduit of altruistic intention" - Newsbreak.comChuck was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation* on January 14th, 2020. After spending nineteen days (19) in ICU/Hospital, cardiologist determined he must have had A-Fib* for 5 years due to the severity. With an ejection fraction of only 10% (the amount of blood pumped out of a heart’s lower chambers each time it contracts), Chuck was not expected to live. After discharging 45 pounds of toxic fluid during that initial visit, Chuck has fought through homelessness, eviction and numerous ER/ICU/hospital stays and in April of 2025 (alone), he had three mini-strokes.
*Atrial fibrillation (Afib) is an irregular heart rhythm that begins in your heart’s upper chambers (atria).
