In December, 2015 United Nations General Assembly declared February 11 as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science to recognize equal participation and accomplishments of female scientists.

(IPPOG) organizes special Hands-on Particle
Physics Masterclasses on this day for girls.
On 11th Feb, 2021 we, the Experimental High Energy
Physics Group of Department of Physics at
University of Jammu, are organizing “Hands on
Particle Physics Masterclasses @ JU”.
Because of extraordinary conditions prevailing
due to pandemic, the event has been planned in
the online mode and will be organized using
Zoom App.

International Masterclasses are launching Masterclass activities on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Institutes are encouraged to arrange a special Masterclass event for girls only. With this event we plan to support and promote the access of women and girls to science education and research activities.
