Founded in the early 1970s, the La Salle College Mass Choir sings Catholic hymns and music for our fellow Lasallians. We sing in monthly masses, as well as Christmas mass and other Catholic events such as prayer services, reconciliation services and charity events. We also seek to help others and participate in events to aid the Catholic Church and promote God and charity.
The Mass Choir currently has about eighty members with different sections performing different tasks for the Mass Choir. The goal of the Mass Choir is to spread out God's word through hymns and psalms. The Mass Choir believes that that singing has a special purpose in our Catholic faith. We also believe that everyone has a right to serve to God's people in Mass Choir regardless of his ability. Therefore we welcome people with different skill sets from sopranos to graphic designers to join us. To quote Saint Augustine, those who sing pray twice. Singing allows us to connect God's message and members of the laity.
Mass Choir also takes care of the well-being of its members and provide guidance on academic and spiritual issues. We also promote unity within the choir through numerous fun activities.
The Mass Choir maintains a close relationship with other choirs and organisations such as the Good News' Singers of St Theresa's Church and the Assembly Choir of St Mary's Cannosian College as well as many other organisations.
