Catching up with Dani

Dani is a PhD student in our lab who recently came back from a one-month trip to Cologne, Germany, where she was fortunate enough to spend her time learning about computational modelling techniques that she will be implementing in her analyses. Dani’s PhD focuses on the relationship between anxiety and interoceptive learning. Since learning cannot be directly measured, computational models aid in exploring how individuals with different levels of anxiety learn about the relationship between their internal world and the environment they find themselves in. 

Dani joined our lab last year, where she started learning about these techniques part-time, while completing her 1st professional year in the University’s Clinical Psychology Centre. The trip to Cologne allowed Dani to work together with a team of world-class experts in the field, who allowed Dani to exchange and implement new ideas to improve model fit and consider suitable model types to be explored. Now that she is back, she is equipped with enhanced knowledge and a clear plan to move forward with her analyses.
