Image Quarry does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information. Everything the extension does happens locally inside your browser. There is no server, no account, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.
What the extension accesses, and why
To convert an image, the extension has to be able to read one. That access is limited to the following, and only on a page you have explicitly acted on by clicking the toolbar icon, pressing the extension's keyboard shortcut, or choosing one of its context-menu items.
Page content. When you run a scan, the extension reads the current page's markup and stylesheets to find the images it contains, including lazy-loaded images and CSS background images. It extracts image URLs only. Text, form contents, and other page data are not read, retained, or transmitted.
Image data. The extension fetches the bytes of images you have selected, from the same origins your browser had already loaded them from, so they can be decoded and re-encoded into your chosen format. It contacts no other host.
Network observations. While a tab is being scanned, the extension notes the URLs of image responses in that tab so that images loaded by script — which never appear in the page markup — can also be listed for conversion. This is observation only: no request is blocked, redirected, or modified, no request bodies or headers are inspected, and these URLs are held in memory for that tab's session and discarded when the tab is closed.
Screen captures. When you start a snip, the extension captures the visible contents of the current tab so you can select a region of it. The captured image stays in your browser and is used only to produce the file you save or copy.
Files you provide. Images you upload, drag and drop, or paste are read in memory for conversion and are never uploaded anywhere.
The extension uses your browser's local extension storage to remember your own settings between sessions: your last chosen output format, quality, resize and target file size values, gallery filter and sort preferences, and snip editor tool settings such as colour, thickness, and font.
No images, page content, URLs, or browsing history are stored. Nothing is synced to a server. Uninstalling the extension removes this data.
The extension does not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial or payment information, authentication information, personal communications, or location data. It does not track your browsing history, record your activity, or fingerprint your device. It contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising, or crash reporting. It sells no data and shares none with third parties, because it holds none to share.
All code and codecs execute from files packaged inside the extension, including the bundled ImageMagick WebAssembly build used by the full version. Nothing executable is downloaded or loaded from a remote source at runtime.
The extension bundles ImageMagick, compiled to WebAssembly, under the ImageMagick licence. It runs entirely inside your browser and makes no network requests of its own. No other third-party service, SDK, or library that transmits data is used.
The extension is a general-purpose image utility and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date. If a future version of the extension ever collects or transmits data, that change will be disclosed here and in the extension's Chrome Web Store data-use declarations before it takes effect.
