Ilyas Mustapha

Postdoctoral Lecturer

I am currently a Postdoctoral Lecturer at Washington University in St. Louis, where I work under the mentorship of Dr. Donsub Rim. I eaned my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Kansas State University in 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Bacim Alali.

My research interests include nonlocal models and peridynamics, computational and theoretical mechanics, numerical methods for peridynamics and integral equations, scientific machine learning for parametrized nonlocal equations, and variational inequalities. My work addresses mathematical and computational challenges in analyzing and simulating nonlocal and peridynamic models, with applications in fracture mechanics, material failure, and biological systems.
