The Newsletter of the International Low Temperature Plasma Community (ILTPC)
The Newsletter of the International Low Temperature Plasma Community (ILTPC)
The ILTPC is an informal organization with an international membership of researchers from the field of low-temperature plasmas (LTPs). Established in April 2020, the ILTPC provides a forum for communication, collaboration, and exchange within the LTP community.
The ILTPC distributes a newsletter to its membership approximately once a month with items of interest to the community, including:
Images to Excite and Inspire
Early Career Spotlight
LTP Perspectives: Policy, Opportunities, Challenges
One Figure, One Result
Negative Results / Lessons Learned
Question of the Month
Methods / Tools / Data
Meetings, Online Seminars, and Schools
Noteworthy Papers
Career Opportunities
Community announcements and initiatives
Join the ILTPC (and receive communications).
Please submit content for the next issue of the Newsletter to editor@iltpcnewsletter.org by October 30, 2026. Please use this template. You can also directly download the template in .docx format here. (Please do not send files in .doc format.)
We particularly welcome contributions to the following sections:
One Figure, One Result
Present one interesting result in a concise and accessible form: one figure, one key result, and approximately 100 words of explanation. The topic is entirely open and may include recently published work, unpublished results, new experimental or modeling approaches, industrial developments, or other LTP-related research. Please send the figure as a separate JPG or PNG file with a minimum width of 800 px.
Early Career Spotlight
We invite nominations and contributions featuring early-career researchers, including postdocs and young principal investigators. Contributions may briefly introduce the researcher's current research topic, important open scientific questions, methods or approaches being developed, and opportunities or interests for future collaboration. Self-nominations and nominations by colleagues are both welcome.
Question of the Month
We invite suggestions for scientific questions that are currently relevant to the LTP community. Selected questions will be presented together with several short perspectives from researchers working in the field. Questions should be broad enough to stimulate discussion and should not have a simple or established answer.
Negative Results / Lessons Learned
Not everything works as expected, and such experiences can be highly valuable to others. We welcome short contributions on approaches or experiments that did not work as anticipated, limitations of diagnostics, models or reaction mechanisms, assumptions that turned out to be problematic, and practical lessons that could save other researchers time and effort.
Methods / Tools / Data
We invite short contributions presenting resources that may be useful to the low-temperature plasma community, including open-source codes, cross-section data, reaction mechanisms, benchmark datasets, diagnostic methods, tutorials, and databases.
Images to Excite and Inspire
We welcome striking plasma images accompanied by a short description. The recommended formats are TIF, JPG, or PNG, with a minimum file width of 800 px.
As always, we also welcome announcements of conferences and workshops, career opportunities, community activities, and other information relevant to low-temperature plasma science and technology.
