The ILTPC is an informal organization with an international membership of researchers from the field of low-temperature plasmas (LTPs). Established in April 2020, the ILTPC provides a forum for communication, collaboration, and exchange within the LTP community.

The ILTPC distributes a newsletter to its membership approximately once a month with items of interest to the community, including:

• Early Career Spotlight

• LTP Perspectives: Policy, Opportunities, Challenges

• One Figure, One Result

• Negative Results / Lessons Learned

• Question of the Month

• Methods / Tools / Data

• Meetings, Online Seminars, and Schools

• Noteworthy Papers

• Career Opportunities

• Community announcements and initiatives

Please submit content for the next issue of the Newsletter to editor@iltpcnewsletter.org by December 4, 2026. Please use this template. You can also directly download the template in .docx format here. (Please do not send files in .doc format.)

We particularly welcome contributions to the following sections:

Images to Excite and Inspire:

Images that are pertinent to plasma science, but which also are aesthetically appealing. No extensive explanation is required. 

Career Spotlights:
Career profiles featuring either Early-Career Researchers or Leaders of the Field. Bringing in a non-technical perspective is encouraged. Max 500 words with a picture. 

LTP Perspectives:
Policy, Opportunities, Challenges: A short opinion piece on a topic of interest to the LTP international community. Perspectives can go in any direction – science, technical, policy, implementation, entrepreneurship, workforce, research, equity. Max 450 words with an optional figure.   

One Figure, One Result:
One interesting result in a concise and accessible form: one figure; one key result; approximately 100 words of explanation. 

Negative Results / Lessons Learned:
Experiments that did not work as anticipated; limitations of diagnostics, models or reaction mechanisms, assumptions that turned out to be problematic, and practical lessons that could save other researchers time and effort. 

Question of the Month:
Scientific questions that are currently relevant to the LTP community. Questions should be broad enough to stimulate discussion and should not have a simple or established answer.

Methods / Tools / Data:
Short contributions presenting resources that may be useful to the low-temperature plasma community, including: new open-source codes; cross-section data; reaction mechanisms; benchmark datasets; diagnostic methods; tutorials, and databases. Contributions should briefly describe the resource, its intended use, and where it can be accessed. 

Meetings, Online Seminars, and Schools:
Brief descriptions and announcements of upcoming plasma science events.

Career Opportunities:
Vacancies in the area of plasma science. Vacancies in academia as well as commerce can be submitted.

As always, we also welcome announcements of community activities and other information relevant to low-temperature plasma science and technology.
