A tutor is a staff member responsible for arranging appropriate tutoring for students enrolled in the program. They work closely with the State Education Project Director, parents, and other staff members to develop and implement a tutoring program relevant to the special needs of migrant students and their families.
Tutor Priorities & Expectations
Tutor must serve all eligible students in a timely manner (Contact families in the following 12 hours – start serving in the following 24 hours)

Tutor must conduct Pre and Post assessments to every student and log the results on Form-11 Literacy and Mathematics Assessment Results
Tutors can find curriculum and Pre and Post assessments, as well as directions and training materials within the following folders:
Tutors must document the services provided to OSY students using the following forms: English Language Screener | iSOSY and Form-18 (Language Screener Scoresheet) and Form-16 (Data Tracking Spreadsheet)
Tutor must organize and prepare tutoring materials.
Tutors must keep parents informed of student progress, if applicable.
Tutor must complete the Academic Services Daily Check in 24-25 every time a student is served.
Please make sure to refer to the Services Form and Definitions document to ensure ALL services are being accurately recorded.
Tutor must complete the Family Support Service Request Form if the family requests other support services (Health services, Food Pantry, Clothing, Legal Aid etc.)
Tutor must complete the Travel Voucher preferably at the end of the day and prior to submitting the timesheet.

Tutor should be familiar with the MEP goals and FERPA and be able to inform migrant families and youth about these topics.
Tutor will be assigned students in both their home county and neighboring counties, with an average travel time of up to 1.5 hours from their home location to provide services.
Ultimately, we want to ensure everyone understands the importance of each element of the migrant services being offered and how we collaborate to achieve the best results for our students.
