Grey's Anatomy

In tonight’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Meredith has to choose between Derek and Finn, two men who are really good candidates for two completely different reasons. Derek Shepherd, a married but separated man, a widely known neurosurgeon at the Grey Memorial Hospital, who has all the patients after him for his looks is one of the candidates vying for Meredith's heart after a one night stand with her before they knew that they were about to work in the same quad or in the same wing of the hospital. Finn, the other candidate who is vying for Meredith's heart, is Meredith's dog's vet who has had a crush on her ever since she stepped foot into the vet's office.

Meredith who is caught up in this love triangle is having a hard time choosing between the two and sets up dates with each of them to determine who is the better candidate for her and explores each relationship day by day.

"Pick Derek!" says Christina who is dating a surgeon herself.

"Pick Finn!" says Izzie as she is in love with a dying heart patient.

"Both of you, stop it. I honestly don't know. They're both just so amazing - in different ways that I wish I could just date them both," replies back Meredith.

"But you can't, so choose," says Christina impatiently.

"Don't choose wrong because then you will ruin up your life," replies Izzie.

Meredith scared as ever replies back saying, "I will just date them both and see how it goes."

The way she met both Derek and Finn is super unorthodox but a great way to ideally meet your future soulmate(s). But in Meredith's world, it is something that is like no other. All her friends are on teams and bet on the two men like it is a video game of some sort.

One of Meredith's good friends, Izzie, tells her to choose Finn while another good friend, Christina, tells her to pick Shepherd. "Pick the hot shot surgeon," says Christina while Izzie continuously tells Meredith "Picking the sweet dog doctor always wins the way to your heart."

Since Meredith and Derek work together, they spend all their time together rather than Finn and Meredith's time spent together. Although Derek has more votes amongst her friends, Meredith and Finn do share some qualities on the lighter and more fun perspective. Finn and Meredith met through unusual circumstances since Finn is Meredith's dog's vet. Christina, Izzie and some of her roommates tell Meredith why both men are good options.

The chief of surgery, Dr. Weber, who is in charge of all residents, employees, surgeons, staff, and the hospital calls all employees down to the operation board and gives them a long talk about all their personal lives and how he knows more than he is supposed to know. "My job as chief of surgery is to manage the operation board and to make sure all patients get the help they require and to make sure all residents and surgeons are on top of their game at all times." He is aware of all things business and personal even if he is not supposed to. He tells Meredith indirectly that as long as it doesn't affect the work you do at the hospital, you are able to continue with whatever your heart desires. Weber adds, "Whatever you do outside the hospital, stays outside the hospital and once you enter through those front doors, you are a surgeon and that should be your top priority."

Meredith’s dog who is now also Derek’s dog is named Doc and Doc had multiple problems and ended up having cancer so Meredith and Derek both decided that the best option would be to put Doc down so that he will not have to suffer anymore and live with so much pain. Through all of these events was how Meredith met Finn. Finn and Meredith would have never crossed paths if it weren't for Doc and if it weren't for Derek and Meredith going to a vet that Derek had recommended. They ended up putting Doc down and this ended up allowing Meredith and Finn to start their talking process and hit things off immediately.

Meredith goes with her heart and ends things with both men as she thinks this is the best solution to not hurting one and hurting the other. Meredith makes her way to the bar where her surgeon career began at. This bar is the bar where all surgeons met at the beginning of the resident life and where she ran into Derek at the very beginning before spending the night with him before their first day of work. Meredith believes that going to the bar will allow her to see which guy did not give up on her.

Right as she steps foot inside of the bar, it was like deja vu as there was the man of her dreams - sitting at the bar with a big fluffy coat and dark hair with pieces of snow from the snowstorm tangled up in his dark brown curls. Meredith stands at the door waiting for her man to turn around and as she waits by the door, he slowly spins around from the chair and turns all the way to face her and they make eye contact. He ends up facing her to look at her from head to toe and walks up to her and gently plants a kiss on her forehead and she was head over heels for him all over again.

Her mind starts to come to ease as the only thing that goes through her mind at this time is "this is what it is to be in love, having a million butterflies roam around excited in your stomach. It is him, it has always been him" and this is the moment when the man in front of her says, "Hi Meredith, my name is Derek Shepherd and I am in love with you." Hearing this is what made Meredith blush and this is what felt like home. At this moment, she had sparks flying everywhere and she realizes that she had made the right decision and it was all thanks to Dr. Weber as he told her to follow her heart.
