Workshops

Rocketry Workshop

ITR's Rocketry Workshop introduces members to the fundamentals of rocketry to pursue TRA certifications. The course covers basic aspects of aerodynamics, structure, and vehicle manufacturing to ensure students are ready to dive into difficult projects upon completion. Students are also introduced to simulation and software commonly used in high-powered rocketry, such as OpenRocket, and FinSim.

Composite Workshop

One of ITR's flagship projects has been the Composite Workshop program. Within less than a year, members have spent countless hours researching, manufacturing, and testing composite airframes. Our Composite Workshop will cover the basic theory of composite manufacturing, from the material to procedure, and how all these factors impact overall vehicle design.

HAM Radio License

The HAM Radio workshop provides an overview of the HAM Radio License, its use in high-powered rocketry, and guideline for obtaining the license. Lectures will be hosted during lunchtime. Additional study materials such as notes, study links, and PowerPoint are also available for those who cannot attend.

Technical Writing

This course presents a comprehensive overview of the essential elements of effective technical report writing and helps develop the practical skills and techniques required to construct well-written engineering reports.

Computer-Aided Design

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is a fundamental skill for developing engineers, allowing them to design and develop three-dimensional models in a virtual environment. With this, we hope to offer instructional courses in SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion 360.

Computational Fluid Dynamics

CFD workshop helps members use numerical analysis and data structures to analyze and solve problems that involve fluid flows. CFD are used to perform the calculations required to simulate the free-stream flow of the fluid, and the interaction of the fluid (liquids and gases) with surfaces defined by boundary conditions.
