I have 26 years of diverse teaching experience. I have taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I have also been a full-time instructor at Northern Illinois University working with the teacher education program within the KNPE Department as well as an adjunct instructor at Aurora University and Elgin Community College. I currently teach at Washington Elementary in Elgin Illinois. I am the IAHPERD Social Media Chair and also serve on the IAHPERD Technology, Advocacy and Awards committees.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Illinois State University in 1996 where I was awarded Student Teacher of the Year. In 2012, I received my Master of Art in Pedagogy and Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University. I recently received 2023 Illinois Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year.
I love presenting at conventions and providing professional development with my Fab 4ish friends and really enjoy presenting on academic integration.
I have 3 children who are all in college and play sports. I enjoy traveling to watch them compete. In my free time I enjoy spending time in her yard gardening, hiking, fishing and cooking.

I have been teaching for 24 years in the DeKalb School District. I am currently the President for IAHPERD (Illinois), and the district PE coordinator. I love presenting with my Fab 4 friends. We have presented at the National SHAPE PE convention several times, and also at the California, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Indiana and Wisconsin state conventions. I love dancing, cardio drumming, and basketball. I also love to create activities for ELA and math for the PE environment. I have a Masters in Administration and a Masters in Literacy with a bilingual emphasis both from Northern Illinois University.. My school has a Blue Ribbon for physical education excellence. I am proud to be a mentor, Wellness Committee chair, and PERA team member at the district level. I have 2 beautiful children, and love my life! In 2021 I was awarded the IAHPERD Elementary PE Teacher of the Year, and shortly thereafter the 2022 Midwest Elementary PE Teacher of the Year. WOOO!

I have been teaching Elementary P.E. for 20 years in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. I currently serve as Vice President of Children for IAHPERD and have presented many times over the years at the annual conference in St. Charles. I am excited to join the Illinois Fab 4 in presenting at various conferences across the United States. The passion of the Illinois Fab 4 is one of a kind and one that I share and look forward to sharing with many P.E. professionals going forward. I have a Masters in Administration and Supervision and even served one year as Assistant Principal in my building. Every year my teaching continues to grow through connections made via Twitter, conferences and workshops and just being a part of the P.E. community in Illinois and others that continue to share and drive one another to improve. I enjoy traveling and golfing with my wife and playing with my dog.

I have been teaching K-2 for 13 years at Grand Prairie Elementary in Frankfort, Il. Our PE program was recently awarded Blue Ribbon status for exemplary quality and commitment to the learning standards in physical education. This will be my 5 th year in PE. I am a passionate, creative, and highly motivated individual. I enjoy creating games and making PE fun and engaging for everyone! I am excited to be joining forces with the Fab 4! I am currently the Grants Committee Chair for IAHPERD NED and I havepresented at both state and national conferences. I am currently working on my masters degree in Physical Education Pedagogy at Illinois State University, which is where my oldest son goes to school too! I have 4 children (3 boys, and 1 girl) and asweet “tripawd” golden retriever named Oscar.

My name is Katrina Haynes and I have been a Physical Education teacher at Dewitt Clinton Elementary School in the Chicago Public School District for eighteen years! Throughout my career I have continued to grow and learn and have completed my masters in Administrative Leadership (Type 75), obtained my National Board certification and have earned an ESL endorsement. I am an advocate for quality Health and Physical Education. I advocate at the district level by sharing my knowledge with all teachers in CPS as a New Teacher Mentor and as a part of the CPS Health and PE Leadership Team. At the state and National level I am the Vice President of Teenage Youth for the Illinois Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (IAHPERD), the IAHPERD Chicago District President and the chairperson for the National Board Committee. These positions have allowed me to present at district, state and national conferences throughout my career and I am excited to continue to grow that practice as one of the newest members of the IL FAB4 crew!

This will be my 19th year teaching Elementary Physical Education . I currently serve as the IAHPERD VP of Children and have enjoyed presenting at the annual IAHPERD Conference for several years as well as other state conventions. I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and have had several roles in my school district including the Elementary P.E. Coordinator and district mentor.
My passion for teaching also feeds into my desire to be a life-long learner and continue to improve and grow as an educator. I love teaching a variety of activities and skills and am always looking for new ideas that I can take into my classes.
I have 3 active boys with my wife that keeps us busy year round, when we have free time we enjoy visiting and hiking at different parks in the area.
