Illinois Valley Learning Hub was founded by Ryne, a high school student who wanted to make a difference in the lives of younger students in the Illinois Valley. What started as tutoring a few kids after school has grown into a trusted, student-led program that offers free academic help for K–8 students at both the Peru Public Library and the Illinois Valley YMCA.
Since launching the program, Ryne has personally tutored over 10 students, helping them strengthen their skills in reading, math, and writing. Beyond academics, Ryne focuses on building confidence and encouraging students to stay curious and engaged. From improving grades to preparing for classroom tests, every session is built around the idea that learning should feel supportive, not stressful.
With experience managing the program, organizing schedules, and keeping in touch with parents, Ryne has turned this initiative into something dependable and meaningful. The Illinois Valley Learning Hub is more than just a tutoring service — it’s a place where kids are seen, supported, and given the tools to succeed.
