The What, Why, How, and Who of ICTA Membership
What is ICTA? The Illinois Career and Technical Administrators is a professional organization of career and technical education administrators designed to promote the interests of those with major responsibilities in the administration of secondary and post-secondary schools and CTE programs. ICTA is affiliated with the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education/ACTE and the National Council of Local Administrators of Career and Technical Education. ICTA is committed to facilitating effective career and technical education programs.
Why become a member?
The purpose of ICTA is to actively participate in the promotion, development, and implementation of career and technical education. Membership in ICTA has numerous benefits including:
access to relevant workshops providing administrator academy credit
opportunity to network with other career and technical education professionals
advocate for career and technical education programs throughout the state
influence development, delivery, and promotion of CTE programs with policymakers
opportunity to participate in conferences and learn up-to-date information about CTE
How do you become a member? The cost of membership dues for a year in ICTA is $70 per year, plus $60 membership in the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Educators (IACTE).

Who should become a member of ICTA? Any educational administrator in Illinois who has responsibility for programs and/or services related to career and technical education in Illinois including:

Community College Instructional Deans/Occupational Program Supervisors

IACTE Awards Portal
The IACTE Awards Portal is now open and nominations for IACTE Awards are being accepted. These awards recognize excellence and dedication within the field of career and technical education among our association members. We seek to commemorate exceptional individuals who have contributed to the success of CTE through the quality of their work and their involvement in the CTE community. All nominees must be current IACTE members and be employed full-time or part-time in career and technical education at the time of nomination.

IACTE Impact Awards
The IACTE Impact Awards recognize groups and individuals from the education, business and industry communities that enhance career and technical education by contributing to the improvement, promotion, development and progress of CTE. Individuals or entities (from within or outside IACTE) that have contributed to the success and promotion of CTE, hereby positively impacting the image of CTE, are eligible recipients of these awards. While there is no membership eligibility restriction for applicants, all nominations must be made by an IACTE member.
