About Ilia Eshkenazy Jossifov
Pedagogical Leadership
My teaching career began in Berlin in 2000. For over 25 years, I have worked extensively with professional opera singers and actors, guiding them through the rigorous demands of the German theater system.
My focus has always been on high-performance technique—helping actors speak without fatigue and singers project over an orchestra without strain. This experience laid the foundation for my private music school in Israel, where I continue to apply these professional standards.
I am a musician of the third generation, born into a legacy that spans the golden age of opera to the modern stage. My life has been dedicated not just to performing, but to understanding the architecture of music from every angle.
The Professional Journey
For 15 years, I was a member of the Berlin State Opera (Staatsoper Unter den Linden), working under the baton of Daniel Barenboim and other world-renowned conductors. My career has taken me from the stage as a Tenor to leadership roles behind the scenes:
Orchestra Director at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden.
Head of Music Management at the Israeli Opera.
Composer of orchestral and vocal works (including the opera "Death and the Maiden").
A Holistic Approach
What distinguishes my teaching is my background as a composer and conductor. I do not just teach you how to hit a high C; I teach you how to function within an orchestra, how to read a conductor's beat, and how to analyze a score harmonically. I accompany my students on the piano with the proficiency of a concert musician, providing the harmonic support necessary for true artistic growth.
The Philosophy
Singing should never feel forced. My approach is not about manufacturing a style, but about removing the physical barriers that block your instrument. By combining technical precision with artistic freedom, we allow your natural timbre to project with power and ease.
