Can I audition on more than one instrument or for more than one part?

Absolutely! The Reed 1 and Reed 2 parts are written for multiple woodwind instruments. Our plan is to split up those parts as needed. If you believe you could cover more than one instrument written for that book, audition on the instruments that you would like to cover. Please note that doing will not gain one an advantage in earning a part .

If you are choosing to audition on multiple instruments, be sure to prepare a 3-5 minute excerpt for each instrument. Also, please make note of it on your audition form. This way if you are auditioning in person, we can book an appropriate amount of time for your audition. If you are recording simply record each excerpt you are performing back to back.

Do pit orchestra members pay the same participation fee as the cast?

Yes. The participation fee for all members of the production is $550. This fee will cover your hotel room during the week of the festival as well as food during our rehearsal weekends. Some high school theatre or music booster programs may help cover this fee since it is a great opportunity for you to represent your school.
