Welcome to my map developer corner. The purpouse of this website is to share developement updates on maps I am building for the IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 combat flight simulator. The aim is the reproduction of landscapes that are as much accurate as possible within the limitations of the game engine. Particular enphasis is placed on the layout and evolution of airfields with time using mostly primary sources of information.
The work focuses on four different theaters of World War 2, as listed below. For each theather there are several maps under construction, and there are multiple time frames planned for many of these.
