Saphire Rock

Saphire Rock is our foray into server type chassis. The primary purpose was to see how well large form-factor (4U) rack-style stackable servers might perform. With the top removed and up to 10 (6 currently) intake/exhaust fans, density is a real option. Unfortunately, this rig is rather heavy and too large for our rig-size of five to six per main board. Until cost-effective eight to twelve unit server boards with high salvage value are available, we will be looking toward Genesis' Mining's design. Chiiama 0 will be the first wood prototype of an all in one small frame for shelf stacking.

GPUs in Operation:

• RX 580 4GB MSI ARMOR X 3 (~22MH/s)
  • Hot cards and terribly overclock resistant. Solid and stable at 22MH/s, but MSI Afterburner is having trouble maintaining overclocks on other cards with them in the system.
• RX 580 4GB Saphire Nitro Pulse (~22MH/s)
  • A beautiful card that pushed ~26MH/s on the test bench. Working at 56degC currently, but will run hotter once adequately overclocked.
• RX 580 4GB ASUS Aorus (~22MH/s)
  • A hot card, but maintains 27MH/s stable on the test bed.
