The first annual conference of International Journal of Services and Standards (IJSS) will be held virtually on August 21, 2021. I am very grateful to National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech), Taiwan for hosting this conference and supporting the journal. Specifically, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dean Jao-Hong Cheng, Associate Dean Tung-Ming Koo, and Dr. Hung-Chang Chang (program chair) at YunTech for their unrelenting efforts in ensuring the success of the first annual conference of IJSS.
I would like to thank the authors for their kind support of the conference. The conference would not have been possible without the authors’ participation via submission of their high quality papers. Submissions to the conference underwent a double-blind peer review process and two reviewers were assigned to a paper. We received submissions from authors of institutions in the U.S., Taiwan, and Thailand. The authors will present their work on supply chain innovation and performance, information security management systems, performance evaluation of governmental policies, e-service volunteer, social media addiction, online booking, we-media, and game-based learning.
I would also like to thank Professor Wei-Hsi Hung, Chair of the Department of Management Information Systems, National Chengchi University, Taiwan, for supporting the conference and journal. Professor Hung has graciously agreed to serve as the Guest Editor of a special issue of IJSS. Authors of high quality papers will be invited to revise their manuscripts substantially (at least 50% new content) for consideration for publication in Professor Hung’s special issue.
I welcome you to the first annual conference of IJSS. I hope the paper sessions will be interactive and the conference will provide a collegial environment for all participants to network and share their research interests.
Have a wonderful time at the conference! J

International Journal of Services and Standards
The National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) is honored to hold the 2021 International Journal of Services and Standards (IJSS) Annual Conference.
Service science began as an idea and was posited to become a new academic discipline focused on the problems characteristic of services. Then, integration of theories and methods from multiple disciplines which serve as a scientific foundation for service innovation is developed.
