If you want a plush, character-driven gift that offers deep bass and 15 hours of listening comfort for casual home use or travel, choose iJoy Squishmallows; if you need true wireless earbuds for basketball with a secure neckband fit, 60 hours of playtime, and ENC call clarity, choose CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds.
• iJoy Squishmallows: The standout strength is its unique, officially licensed Squishmallows aesthetic with plush over-ear cups designed for maximum coziness, while the trade-off is a shorter 15-hour battery life and older Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity compared to modern standards.
• CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds: The biggest win is the massive 60-hour battery life combined with a secure neckband design ideal for active movement, though it lacks the plush comfort and character appeal of the over-ear option.
• Who each pick is for: Choose iJoy for fans who prioritize style and softness in a stationary setting; choose CXPSUE for athletes or commuters who need reliability, long battery, and a fit that stays put during motion.
The iJoy Squishmallows headphones are clearly built for a specific audience: those who love the cuddly world of Squishmallows plush toys and want their audio gear to match that vibe. These aren't just generic headphones; they feature an over-ear design wrapped in fabric and plush materials that give them a soft, huggable feel. If you are shopping for a gift for a girl, boy, woman, man, or anyone in the Squish Squad fandom, this product hits the mark by combining the beloved character designs with functional audio capabilities. The teal color and soft enclosure material make them feel less like tech gadgets and more like accessories for relaxation.
For someone who spends a lot of time at home, hosting themed parties, or simply unwinding on the couch, these headphones offer a distinct advantage. The plush padded ear cups are engineered for long-lasting comfort, meaning you can wear them for extended movie marathons or gaming sessions without the fatigue often associated with hard plastic headsets. They deliver high-quality audio with deep bass and crisp treble through dynamic drivers, ensuring the sound remains immersive even when the visual focus is elsewhere. The foldable design also adds a layer of practicality, making them easy to pack for commutes or trips, though the primary draw here is undoubtedly the aesthetic and tactile experience.

However, you should skip this option if you are looking for cutting-edge wireless technology or extreme portability for intense sports. The device relies on Bluetooth version 4.0, which has a range of up to 33 feet but is technically older than current standards found in many newer earbuds. While the hybrid noise cancellation helps filter out some ambient sounds, the over-ear form factor might trap heat during vigorous activity. Furthermore, the 15-hour average battery life is solid for daily listening, but it pales in comparison to devices designed for marathon sessions or long-haul travel where charging isn't always an option. If your priority is purely performance specs rather than character charm and softness, this model might not be the right tool for the job.
The CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds are engineered for people who need their audio gear to keep up with a busy, active lifestyle. The defining feature here is the neckband design, which keeps the earbuds securely attached around your neck rather than loose in your pocket or bag. This makes them an excellent choice for true wireless earbuds for basketball or any situation where you don't want to worry about losing a single bud. The flexible, lightweight collar rests effortlessly on your shoulders, and the in-ear shape ensures the buds stay locked in place even when you are jumping, sprinting, or moving quickly. You get a sense of security that traditional TWS (true wireless) models often lack, especially for athletes or gym-goers.
Battery life is another major selling point for this product. With a claimed 60 hours of continuous playtime on a single charge, these earbuds eliminate the anxiety of running out of power mid-day. Whether you are using them for your morning commute, a long work session, or an entire week of workouts, the USB-C charging capability means you only need to plug them in occasionally. The audio performance is tuned for balance, featuring precision-tuned hybrid drivers that provide robust bass, clear vocals, and detailed highs. This makes them versatile enough for music, podcasts, and videos, delivering a rich Hi-Fi sound experience that doesn't sacrifice clarity for volume. Additionally, the twin set offering provides incredible value, giving you three reliable neckband headphones in one package, which is perfect for sharing with a partner or keeping a backup in your car or office.
Despite these strengths, there are trade-offs to consider. The passive noise cancellation relies on the physical seal of the in-ear tips rather than active electronic processing, so they won't block out wind or loud machinery as effectively as active noise-canceling over-ear headphones. The Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity is a significant upgrade over older versions, offering a stable connection up to 33 feet, but the low latency of 60 milliseconds, while good, might still introduce slight delays for competitive gaming enthusiasts who need frame-perfect synchronization. The carrying case is compact at 3 inches long, but the overall build uses plastic and silicone, which feels durable yet less premium than plush alternatives. If you prefer a headset that feels like a toy or a fashion statement, these might feel too utilitarian, but for pure function and endurance, they excel.
• Best for Battery Life → CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds: With 60 hours of playtime versus 15 hours, the CXPSUE wins decisively for long-term use without frequent charging.
• Best for Comfort & Style → iJoy Squishmallows: The plush, over-ear design with fabric materials offers a cozy, huggable experience that the rigid plastic of the CXPSUE cannot match.
• Best for Active Sports → CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds: The secure neckband fit and sweat-resistant materials make them superior for basketball and other high-movement activities.
• Best for Noise Isolation (Passive) → iJoy Squishmallows: The over-ear enclosure naturally blocks more external noise due to its larger size compared to the in-ear CXPSUE tips.
• Best for Call Clarity → CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds: The built-in ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) microphones specifically target background noise for clearer conversations, whereas the iJoy uses standard hybrid cancellation primarily for music.
• Best for Sharing/Gifting → CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds: The "twin set" concept offers three units, making it easier to share with friends or family, while the iJoy is a single unit focused on individual fandom.
• Best for Audio Tech → CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds: Bluetooth 5.0 and hybrid drivers with a wider frequency response offer a more modern and precise audio foundation than the Bluetooth 4.0 system.
• Best for Themed Gifting → iJoy Squishmallows: If the recipient is a die-hard fan of the plush characters, the official licensing and cute design make this the only logical choice.
In my opinion, if I were buying headphones specifically for basketball or active use, I would choose the CXPSUE Neckband Earbuds without hesitation. The 60-hour battery life alone removes the stress of constant recharging, and the neckband design ensures the earbuds never fall out during a game. The ENC microphone technology also guarantees my voice comes through clearly even in noisy environments, which is critical for calls on the go. While the iJoy Squishmallows are undeniably charming and comfortable for relaxing at home, the CXPSUE delivers the durability, stability, and endurance required for real-world sports performance. For a buyer torn between the two, the CXPSUE offers the practical functionality needed for an active lifestyle, whereas the iJoy is better suited for a quiet, cozy environment.
