I received M.Sc. (Technology) in 2012, and PhD (Technology) in 2018 from the University of Oulu, Finland. Currently, I am working as a senior scientist with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and as an Adjunct Professor (Docent) at the University of Oulu, Finland. Prior to this, I worked at Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC), Oulu, Finland, as a post-doctoral researcher/fellow, and participated in various national and international projects. I am a co-author in over 75 publications including an edited book "A comprehensive Guide to 5G Security" with Wiley. Inc. I have received several awards for my work including the VTT research excellence awards, the Nokia foundation grant awards, the Tauno Tönning and Jorma Ollila grant awards, as well as two IEEE best paper awards. I have been a visiting scientist at University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Macquarie University, Sydney Australia (2024-2025), CTTC Barcelona, Spain (2023), TU Vienna Austria (2019), and Aalto University, Finland in 2018.
I am senior member of IEEE (SMIEEE), and management committee member Finland of EU-COST ACTION, co-chair security working group EU 6G Innovation Action (6GIA), member of IEEE communication society, member IEEE P1955 (standards on Standard for 6G Empowering Robotics: Use Case Scenarios, Requirements, Architectural Impact, and Technical Assumptions). I have been in TPC of many conferences, and actively review articles for many well-reputed journals and conferences. I have also participated in several panel discussions on network or cybersecurity. On a personal note, I like traveling, playing tennis and badminton, fishing and downhill skiing. I live in Finland since 2010.
