IIUM Taekwondo Club was established with the aim of exposing its members to martial arts. Club members consist of those who have ventured into the sport of taekwondo before & also those who have just tried it for the first time. Taekwondo is divided into three branches, namely World Taekwondo Federation - WTF (now known as WT), International Taekwondo Federation - ITF, Global Taekwondo Federation - GTF and only WT is focused on IIUM Taekwondo Club.

Apart from that, IIUM Taekwondo Club also sent its members to represent IIUM to the University level tournament organized by the Majlis Sukan Universiti Malaysia (MASUM) and Sukan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (SUKIPT).

In the meantime, members who do not have the opportunity to participate in the competition can also have the opportunity to participate in other open tournaments organized by taekwondo clubs in Malaysia.

IIUM Taekwondo Club also organizes various interesting programs such as Invitational & Closed Tournament, Black Belt Special Training, Kickstagram, Centralized Training and others. In fact, the club also sends its representatives to hold taekwondo shows and demonstrations if invited by any clubs or program either inside or outside IIUM.

Therefore, taekwondo club members can not only learn martial arts, but they can also gain new experiences by participating in organized programs.

All students at IIUM, both old and new, are encouraged to join the IIUM Taekwondo Club to learn martial arts and expand their contacts in the taekwondo arena.
