In March 2015, the Communication and Media Center (COMET) was established. COMET is now one of the research centers affiliated with the Kuliyyah of AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Islamic Revealed Knowledge (AHAS KIRKHS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
The center's main asset and core is their committee. COMET is also open to any members from different backgrounds and experiences because skills can be learned.

Objectives :
To develop a strong research position in media and communication studies and in related disciplines.
To create a platform for an international network of acclaimed researchers and academic institutions.
To disseminate and make known the research results obtained by the members of COMET.
To offer innovative courses and support programs.
To organize international conferences, seminars and workshops.
To publish and produce scholarly materials in print and digital format.
