The Hardware Security Innovation Challenge, an initiative under the ISEA Project of MeitY, Government of India, coordinated by IIT Kanpur as Co-Lead, advances indigenous, research-driven innovation in hardware security by engaging students and researchers nationwide. It encourages early-stage ideas that address real-world challenges and deliver practical, deployable solutions supporting India’s critical sectors and technological self-reliance. The Challenge focuses on Hardware Reverse Engineering and Side-Channel Analysis of Post-Quantum Cryptography. Participants gain hands-on experience in detecting Hardware Trojans in RTL designs and performing power-based key-recovery attacks on Kyber, building essential skills in hardware security, FPGA design, and cryptographic engineering.

Innovation Challenge & Bootcamp Structure
Duration: 3-18 January 2026 – 31st Jan & 1 February 2026
Mode: Online Qualification + Offline Bootcamp at IIT Kanpur
Challenge Domains
Domain 1: Hardware Reverse Engineering.
Domain 2: Side Channel Analysis of Quantum Secure ML-KEM (CRYSTALS- Kyber)
Team Composition & Rules
Each team must consist of exactly 3 members and individual participation is not allowed.
Teams must adhere strictly to submission deadlines, A team can participate in Two domains.
Any form of plagiarism or data manipulation will result in disqualification.
Selected teams must attend the offline bootcamp in person .
Travel support is not provided; however, assistance for on-campus accommodation will be offered If available.

Innovation Challenge (Qualification Stage)
Conducted fully online, allowing registered teams to work remotely during the qualification period.
Problem Statement & Dataset Release (Domain 1 & Domain 2): 3rd January 2026 will be uploaded in website.
Submission Deadline: 18 January 2026,Time sharp 11:59 pm.
All Teams who are Participated in Qualification Stage we are inviting all the participated teams to the offline bootcamp at IIT Kanpur even your teams scores zero marks in Qualification stage.
Qualification Results Announcement: 20 January 2026 will be Inform through Mail.
Each participating team will receive a certificate for participating in this innovation challenge
Bootcamp & FDP at IIT Kanpur (Final Stage)

All Participated teams in Qualification stage are being invited to IIT Kanpur for a 2-days hands-on bootcamp at IIT Kanpur.
Bootcamp Dates: 31st Jan & 1st February 2026 link
Day 1 (31/01/2026): Technical sessions and expert interactions.
Day 2 (01/02/2026): Individual Team PPT Presentation and final evaluation is conducted onsite, followed by Announcement of winners and Prize Money Distributions.
