March 2016: Samar gave a talk on 'Processing Hindi Relative clauses: Implications for Memory Retrieval and Expectation based theories' at the Formal Approaches to South Asian Languages (FASAL6) held at UMass, Amherst, USA and at Young Researchers' Conference in Cognitive Science, Hyderabad, India.

March 2016: Samar gave a talk on 'Determinants Of Reading Difficulty in Hindi' at the Haskins Laboratories, New Haven, USA.

February 2016: Samar gave a talk on 'Determinants Of Reading Difficulty in Hindi' at the 25th Convention of National Academy of Psychology, Allahabad, India.

Deepshikha Chauhan and Apurva Yadav have joined the linguistics unit as PhD candidates

First LingChai session starting on 15th January. This semester these sessions are scheduled every Friday from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

July, 2015: Payal Khullar joined as a PhD candidate at HSS (Linguistics). Payal recently finished her MA in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

August, 2015: Samar Husain presented his recent work titled ''Non-projectivity and processing constraints: Insights from Hindi" at Depling 2015.

Conference and Workshop

March, 2015: Samar gave a talk on Reactivation effects interact with expectation strength at the Centre of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences, University of Allahabad.

June, 2015: Dr. Ark Verma (IIT Kanpur) gave a talk on 'Lateralization of Cognitive Functions: The Visual Half-field Task Revisited' at HSS (Linguistics), IIT Delhi.

Grants

April, 2015: Gurmeet was awarded a travel grant from the International Collaboration Division, ICSSR to present her work at the 31st South Asian Language Analysis Roundtable (SALA) held at the Lancaster University, UK from 14-16 May, 2015.
