CODE OF CONDUCT
All coaches, students, judges, and moderators must abide by our tournament code of conduct throughout the event. Failure to abide by the tournament code of conduct may result in removal from the event.
All visitors will act in accordance with the Crofton House School Code of Conduct, which outlines the following types of acceptable and unacceptable behaviour:
Acceptable Behaviour
Respect differences in people, their backgrounds, experiences, ideas, and their opinions.
Respect and treat others fairly, regardless of (for example) race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or age.
Respect diverse perspectives, especially when there is disagreement
Take responsibility for personal behaviour and actions.
Demonstrate care of self, others, and the environment.
Show proper care and regard for school property and the property of others.
Help those in need by whatever action(s) is possible.
Unacceptable Behaviour
Act in a way that jeopardizes one’s personal or others’ physical or emotional safety.
Engage in acts of bullying, harassment, intimidation or physical violence.
Be dishonest.
Engage in acts of academic dishonesty.
It is the role of students to write their own speeches, to work on prepared events either by themselves or with the appropriate support of their coach and teammates, and to engage in fair, friendly, intellectually stimulating competition.
Under no circumstances should a student present a speech written, or largely written, by someone else.
Commit an act of vandalism that causes damage to school property or property located on the premises of the School.
Engage in illegal acts such as possession, use, or distribution of illegal or restricted substances, including, amongst others, alcohol, tobacco, vapourizing products (e-cigarettes, vaping devices), possession of weapons, theft, or damage to property.
