The Institute of International Studies (IIS-RU), Ramkhamhaeng University, was established in 1999 to expand its educational opportunities for the university’s international program to satisfy the ever-growing demand for international higher education.
IIS-RU offers many academic disciplines in both English and Chinese programs, at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including the Ph.D. level for Thai and international students in conjunction with universities overseas, in an ongoing effort to embrace the spirit of internationalization.
All of our courses are taught effectively by over 100 highly professional and internationally experienced visiting professors and lecturers from well-known leading universities in U.S.A., U.K., Canada, and various European countries, who take turns to come to conduct the courses of our English Program at the institute. Also, the Chinese Program is taught by distinguished professors from prestigious Chinese universities.
Currently, 1,586 students have enrolled, consisting of both Thai (49 %) and foreign students (51 %) from 54 countries worldwide, including 99 non-degree students studying an exchange semester at IIS-RU.

Accreditation is a means of quality assurance within the U.S. American education system. It is granted by private U.S. organizations and ensures that your grade is not a fake.
State universities from other countries usually don't ask for such an accreditation. They are under permanent quality control by their national Ministries of Education with their countries being members of the international organizations, such as United Nations.

Institute of International Studies, Ramkhamhaeng University (IIS-RU) is an organization under the administration of Ramkhamhaeng University. Its objectives are to operate in line with the main university’s policies. In response to the directions of Ramkhamhaeng University, IIS-RU focuses on providing a framework in which the major RU missions can be executed in accordance with RU guidelines. In conformance with RU polices, IIS-RU aims to develop its core capabilities and elevate its working standards so as to satisfy the growing expectations and demands of its clients as well as to serve society effectively.
IIS-RU pursues quality assurance policies and academic standards in accordance with its main philosophy which is to produce highly capable graduates who will be able to compete and contribute effectively in an international context.
This self-assessment report (SAR) has been updated with supplementary elements in accordance with the quality guidelines and key indicator framework of the Higher Education Commission. IIS-RU is regularly inspected for its quality assurance in the aspect of it being a supporting agency for Ramkhamhaeng University.
IIS-RU is measured on its quality assurance practices by both the Higher Education Commission and the Quality Assurance Committee of Ramkhamhaeng University. It is assessed and scored for conformance with the specific quality identifiers and quality framework indicators of the university. Through effective management, IIS-RU anticipates realizing and acting upon its strengths and weaknesses in order to foster sustainable future development and promote the highest level of quality.
