The Intelligent Interaction Research Lab

The Intelligent Interaction Research (I2R) Lab develops advanced interactive technologies to help individuals with mental/cognitive challenges. Currently, we focus on human-machine interaction research for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, older adults with Mild Cognitive Impairments, and substance abuse.

We are a group of engineers who work closely with psychologists, cognitive scientists, social workers, nursing experts, and other professionals.

Although we spend much time developing technologies in an engineering lab, we also emphasize the communication with real patients, their caregivers, and their care providers.

We believe interactive technology will eventually be a key factor to address current difficulties in behavioral health assessment and intervention. We hope our effort will improve the life quality of people. We want to see more laughter, happiness, care, and humanity.
