The Intelligent Interaction Research Lab

The Intelligent Interaction Research (I2R) Lab develops advanced interactive technologies to help individuals with mental/cognitive challenges. Currently, we focus on human-machine interaction research for individuals on the autism spectrum and older adults with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD).

We are a group of engineers who work closely with psychologists, cognitive scientists, social workers, nursing experts, and other professionals.

Although we spend much time developing technologies in an engineering lab, we also emphasize communication with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.

We believe interactive technology will eventually be a key factor in addressing current difficulties in behavioral health. We hope our efforts will improve the quality of life. We want to see more laughter, happiness, care, and humanity.
