Karthick Subramani

Principal Investigator

Dr. Karthick Subramani is presently an assistant professor in IIITDM Kancheepuram. He completed his Ph.D in the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2018. He received his BE (Mechanical) and M-Tech (Thermal sciences) from Sona College of Technology and NIT Calicut respectively. He previously worked as an assistant professor in  Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida and joined IIITDM Kancheepuram in 2019. His primary area of research focuses on micro-scale transport phenomena, but open to explore allied potential areas of advancements in science.

Jeyapradhap T, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, joined the Microscale Transport Laboratory in 2021. In 2016, he graduated from IIITDM Kancheepuram with a Master's degree. His research focuses on employing acoustic fields in the minichannel and microchannel to manipulate droplets and fluids and to enhance heat transfer.

I have completed my master degree (Thermal Engineering) from government college of Technology, Coimbatore in 2014.I am having 4 years of experience as a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer. Currently I am working in an Industry as Senior CFD Engineer. I have joined in microscale Transport lab in the year 2022 as a PhD student (External). My area of interest is Exploring the transport phenomenon at microscale level and flow manipulation at microscale level for enhancing the transport process.

Muthu Shravan is a 4th year B.Tech Mechanical Engineering student. His newfound passion towards fluids is what propelled him to pursue research in microfluidics. He is currently working on acoustic streaming which deals with the usage of acoustic fields to manipulate particles in a fluid at the microscale to form various streaming patterns and the various factors which affect this. Apart from research, he likes to write stories and is also known to devour novels.

Anjan Mahapatra

Anjan Mahapatra is a final year B.Tech Mechanical engineering student. His interest in lab-on-a-chip devices and miniature biomedical devices is what attracted him to the field of Microfluidics. He is currently working on droplet acoustofluidics which deals with sorting droplets and knowing the effects of acoustic field parameters on a droplet in a minichannel. Apart from this, he is an automotive enthusiast with a keen interest in product development.

Videsh V K is a 3rd-year Mechanical Engineering student who has found his true calling in the field of fluids. He is currently involved in studies regarding acoustic phenomena such as acoustic relocation, streaming and its suppression. His work involves analyzing the behavior of sound waves in different mediums and microchannels and their impact on fluid flow patterns. He is otherwise a diehard tech fan and an ardent car enthusiast.

Kabilan, a motivated undergrad, has joined eMpTy Lab owing to his interest in microscale heat transfer. He is actively working on a project involving heat transfer using acoustic field in micro channel ,since he has a passion for scientific investigation and a deep interest in understanding thermal dynamics at the micro scale. He is working closely with other researchers while being mentored by senior research fellows, which has allowed him to obtain practical knowledge and understanding of the difficulties associated with thermal phenomena in microdevices.
