Developments of various electronic system & tools. Area: Robotics, Automation, Embedded systems; electronics, instrumentation & measurements.*
Micro-fabrication & wearable systems. Area: Micro-total Analysis System (uTAS) & embedded system.**
Smart sensing: making passive sensors automated & smart (IoT).
Testing and characterisation: Implementation of circuits on PCB, characterising circuits (measuring delay, power, impedance, noise, etc.; Electronics & measurements.
*Students with some experience in electronics, Matlab, coding are welcome. Projects will be 4-6 months to couple of semester long.
** Students with interest in multidisciplinary area and with good understanding of chemistry, physics are welcome. These projects are at least a semester long.

Pre-requisite: good knowledge of any engineering discipline: Analog Circuits, Semiconductor physics/Material physics, Micro-fabrication and Nano-technology, Physics (electrical+material). Additional knowledge and interest in Biology, Genomics &/or Chemistry/material sci, Optics will be an added bonus. Strong inquisitive nature and willing to learn and ask questions is a must. Student should be willing to work hand on in lab as well as run simulation tools.
JRF/ MS/ PhD position opening in the domain of Sensors (bio-) & Circuit Design. (Centre for VLSI and Embedded System Centre). Circuit design, analysis as well as exploration of cutting edge material.
Eligibility:
M.Tech. 2+ year research experience in analog/mixed signal VLSI design from a good college. Or B. Tech with solid foundation & (+1-2 yr) good research project in analog/mixed signal design (Experience in Simulation and basics of analog design.).
Good understanding of Device physics, electronics & Microfabrication
Experience with Cadence (preferred) or any other Simulation/Layout tool, COMSOL or TCAD is required.
Commitment to work, enthusiasm, and inquisitiveness.
