If you want a specialized upgrade kit to enhance the seal and stability of your existing Samsung Galaxy Buds for airplane travel, choose IiEXCEL 6; if you need dedicated, high-decibel noise cancellation for sleeping or loud environments without relying on active electronics, choose PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise. These two products solve completely different problems, and confusing them will lead to frustration rather than silence.
• IiEXCEL 6: Offers superior fit customization with three distinct sizes (S/M/L) made from flexible silicone to improve sound isolation on compatible Samsung earbuds, but it is merely an accessory, not a standalone audio device.
• PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise: Delivers professional-grade 45dB noise reduction via a three-layer acoustic shield designed for side sleepers and travelers, though it lacks the electronic features of modern wireless buds.
• Best For: Choose IiEXCEL 6 if you already own Galaxy Buds and feel they slip or leak sound during flights. Choose PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise if you require total silence for sleep, concerts, or snoring partners.
The IiEXCEL 6 product line is not a pair of headphones you plug into your phone; it is a precision replacement component designed specifically for Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, Galaxy Buds Plus, and original Galaxy Buds models. If you are someone who struggles with the stock ear tips provided by the manufacturer, this product offers a tangible solution. This variety allows you to find a seal that matches your specific ear canal geometry, which is critical for maintaining the battery life and audio fidelity of your expensive earbuds.
For the frequent flyer looking for foldable gaming headphones for airplane use, the value here lies in the seal quality. A poor seal means sound leakage and bass loss, forcing you to crank up the volume to dangerous levels just to hear the dialogue over the engine hum. By swapping out worn-out or ill-fitting stock tips for these durable, water-washable replacements, you restore the acoustic integrity of your setup. The design ensures they fit snugly inside the charging case without needing to remove foam inserts, solving a common annoyance where bulky tips prevent the lid from closing properly.
However, you should skip this product entirely if you do not currently own a compatible Samsung Galaxy Buds model. It has no internal battery, no drivers, and no Bluetooth capability. It cannot function as a standalone listening device. If your current earbuds are old, damaged, or simply not the right model, buying a box of silicone tips will not give you the audio experience you are seeking. You must already have the hardware; this product only optimizes what you already possess. It is an accessory for those who understand that comfort and fit are the unsung heroes of good sound isolation.

In stark contrast, the PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise is a complete, standalone hearing protection system built from the ground up for maximum silence. This is not an add-on; it is the primary tool. The specifications highlight a sophisticated three-layer acoustic shield structure capable of filtering ambient noise up to 45dB. This level of attenuation is significant, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking the best waterproof earphones for airplane use where engine drone and crying babies can be overwhelming. Unlike standard foam plugs that lose their shape quickly, these utilize ultra-soft silicone engineered through extensive ear canal data modeling to fit 95% of ear shapes comfortably.
The design philosophy here prioritizes long-term wearability, specifically for side sleepers. Many earplugs cause pain when you lie on your cheek because they stick out too far or press too hard against the pinna. The PATNRAB design addresses this with a profile that stays securely in place throughout the night without causing discomfort. The inclusion of eight pairs of eartips ranging from XS to L ensures that even those with very small or very large ear canals can achieve a custom fit. Furthermore, the material choice—premium ultra-soft silicone—means these are reusable and washable, offering a sustainable alternative to disposable foam plugs that contribute to plastic waste.
This product is also exceptional for concert-goers or anyone dealing with intermittent loud noises like snoring or traffic. The frequency recognition technology mentioned in the specs suggests a smart approach to noise blocking; it filters low-frequency rumbles while theoretically preserving important alerts, though the primary goal is deep quiet. The portable storage solution, a pebble-shaped case with a keychain attachment, makes it incredibly easy to carry these earplugs anywhere. Whether you are boarding a plane, heading to a noisy construction site, or trying to get a full night's rest in a dormitory, this product stands alone as a robust, passive noise-canceling solution that requires no charging and no pairing.
• Best for Battery Independence → PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise: Since these are passive devices, they never run out of power, making them infinitely reliable for overnight use or emergency situations where charging isn't an option.
• Best for Existing Samsung Owners → IiEXCEL 6: If you already have Galaxy Buds and want to extend their life or fix a slipping fit, this is the only logical choice; PATNRAB cannot integrate with your current buds.
• Best for Side Sleeping Comfort → PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise: The ergonomic design and multiple size options (XS-L) are explicitly engineered to prevent pressure points when lying on your side, a scenario where standard buds often fail.
• Best for Active Travel Portability → PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise: The compact, keychain-ready case offers better on-the-go convenience than carrying a separate box of tiny tips alongside your earbud case.
• Best for Sound Fidelity Enhancement → IiEXCEL 6: If your goal is to improve the bass response and clarity of music played through active speakers, replacing the seal on your buds is more effective than plugging your ears.
• Best for High-Decibel Reduction → PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise: With a stated 45dB reduction capability, these provide a stronger barrier against loud environments compared to the passive isolation offered by a simple tip swap.
• Best for Environmental Sustainability → PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise: Designed as a reusable, washable alternative to single-use foam, they align better with eco-conscious habits than replacing silicone parts periodically.
• Best for Multi-Device Versatility → IiEXCEL 6: While limited to Samsung models, they allow you to continue using your preferred wireless ecosystem, whereas PATNRAB requires you to switch to a passive method entirely.
In my opinion, the PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise is the superior purchase for most people seeking relief from noise, especially for airplane travel or sleep. The ability to block 45dB of sound passively without needing to charge a device or worry about battery drain is a massive advantage. It solves the core problem of "silence" directly, whereas the IiEXCEL 6 only optimizes a secondary solution. However, if you are deeply invested in the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem and your current buds are slipping, the IiEXCEL 6 is a necessary maintenance part. But for pure performance and versatility across all noise scenarios, the dedicated design of the PATNRAB product wins. I would buy the PATNRAB Ear Plugs Noise to ensure I could sleep on a red-eye flight without interruption.
Yes, the 45dB noise reduction and secure fit make them excellent for blocking engine noise and cabin chatter, serving as a reliable alternative to electronic headphones for sleep.
No, these tips are specifically designed to fit the housing and driver configuration of Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, Plus, and original Galaxy Buds models only.
The package includes eight pairs of ultra-soft silicone ear tips ranging from extra-small (XS) to large (L), ensuring a customized fit for almost any ear shape.
The silicone material is described as water-washable and durable, allowing you to clean the tips easily, but the product itself is an accessory and does not contain electronic components to be submerged.
