Thapar institute of Engineering and Technology provides many societies for the students to choose from, they let the students select either tech oriented societies or non-tech societies. Yet there are many students who don’t wish to belong to only one of these classifications, instead, they wish to relish in the merits of both. The only option for this currently is to manage multiple societies and their non-cooperating schedules. PLEX is the embodiment of this wish of the student body, devoid of any of it’s associated demerits, a place where tech domains exist in an equal focus with the non-tech domains.
PLEX exists at the juncture of tech and non-tech in Thapar, providing students a third option where they are not required to compartmentalize themselves from the start and instead get to grow and know their areas of interest in due time. PLEX is not just a foundation, it holds the expertise to help these same students go ahead and incubate their passion and innovation to specialize in their areas of interest, be it even a niche field of tech or an unorthodox one in non-tech.
Throughout the students’ time in PLEX, we aim to instill in the students a sense of understanding of the difference between a project and a product. Furthermore, with this ideology in mind, any work done by the student in PLEX will be towards developing a product instead of the traditional projects produced in most colleges. In essence, PLEX will be the harbinger to bringing a product culture on campus.
PLEX is the Product Manager’s organization, where the PLEX works to develop the inquisitive, tinkering, and revolutionary mindsets of its members. And these members in turn work to forge, into reality, their dreams and future, along with the future of this generation and the college.
