Biography:

Christien Li is a final year medical student from Newcastle University, United Kingdom. He has a strong interest in cardiac epidemiology and has already published articles in international journals such as Frontiers in Physiology, European Heart Journal and the BMJ despite his early medical career. He is currently a peer-reviewer in the British Student Doctor Journal and the Journal of Arrhythmia. In Medical education, he founded the NCL x CUHK International Research Mentorship Program and has obtained funding from Newcastle University to introduce its first 3D printers for medical teaching. Christien was also the winner of the prestigious Zeshan Qureshi Award for Outstanding Achievement in Medical Education 2017 and Enid Linder Foundation Research Bursary Prize.

Biography: Prof. Lip is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He is an academic clinical cardiologist based in a busy city centre teaching hospital and leads a large, multidisciplinary research group (including clinical and laboratory based components). He is also Visiting Professor of Haemostasis Thrombosis and Vascular Sciences in the School of Life & Health Sciences at the University of Aston in Birmingham, England. Dr. Lip is Adjunct Professor in Cardiovascular Sciences at Aalborg University, Denmark. Furthermore, he is Visiting Professor of Cardiology at Belgrade University, Serbia. In 2014, he was conferred Honorary Professor in Department 1 of Geriatric Cardiology, Nanlou Division, Chinese PLA General Hospital & Chinese PLA Medical School, Beijing, China.

Biography: Prof. Liu is an academic cardiac electrophysiologist with research interests in the mechanisms, pathogenesis and epidemiology of cardiac rhythm disorders. He was an electrophysiology research fellow from 2009.12-2010.11 in Heart Rhythm Center, the Heart Institute, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles. He served as Editorial Board members of World Journal of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy, and guest reviewers in peer reviewed SCI journals in the field of cardiology, such as JACC, Am J cardiol, PACE, Nutrition, Metabolism & Cardiovascular Diseases, Heart and Vessels.

He is Editor in Chief of Evidence Based Medicine and Practice (EBMP), Internal Medicine and Care (IMC), SciFed Journal of Cardiology and Quality in Primary Care, Section Editor of Current Atherosclerosis Reports (Impact Factor - 2.731) and Academic Editor of Medicine (USA - Baltimore, Maryland - Impact Factor - 1.803).

He has acted or works as a member of the editorial board of 102 and reviewer of 230 scientific journals. These include Journal of Epidemiology, Internal Medicine, Translational Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases & Diagnosis, Interventional Cardiology, Emergency Medicine and others. Biography: Dr. Gary Tse received his Bachelor of Arts with Honours (B.A.) from the University of Cambridge (2008), Master of Arts (M.A.) from the University of Cambridge (2012), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) from Imperial College London (2014), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Cambridge (2015), Master in Public Health (M.P.H.) from the University of Manchester (2017), Master of Health Management (M.H.M.) from the University of New South Wales (2019) and Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Cambridge (2021).

In China, over a period of 6 years, he established the Laboratory of Cardiovascular Physiology and Cardiovascular Analytics Group for pre-clinical and clinical research, respectively. He served as Affiliated Investigator (2015), Principal Investigator (2016) and Professor (2019) at Tianjin Medical University. In 2019, he took a sabbatical to pursue a six-month advanced fellowship at the Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital, where he focused on catheter ablation of atrial and supraventricular arrhythmias. He undertook a six-month advanced fellowship training at the Department of Cardiac Electrophysiology of the Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital, where he focused on catheter ablation of atrial and supraventricular arrhythmias. Since then, he has returned to Tianjin Medical University, where he holds a full professorial appointment, directing cardiovascular research as Principal Investigator at its Key Laboratory. Gary has provided input on strategic planning at the institutional level under the direction of senior management. Through successfully leading and managing international studies with collaborative efforts, his team continues to deliver sustained and impactful research output. He has also developed experience in project and personnel management. In particular, his team's ethos is the bilateral nature of mentorship, where each team member plays an important role and is encouraged to develop his or her full potential.

He is a Guest Professor at The First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University (2018), an Honorary Professor at the Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital of Xiamen University (2019), a Senior Epidemiologist at the Observational and Pragmatic Research Institute, Singapore and Optimum Patient Care, Cambridge (2020), a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (2020) and a Research Fellow at Institute of Advanced Studies (2021), University of Surrey, and a Reader in Public Health at the Kent and Medway Medical School, University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University (2021), UK.

Biography:

Dr. Wing Tak Jack Wong earned his Ph.D. in Physiology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009. To expand his horizon on cutting-edge research and technologies on stem cell biology and cardiovascular regeneration, Dr. Wong has been awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship from American Heart Association to gain postdoctoral training at Stanford University before becoming an Assistant Professor of Houston Methodist Research Institute and Weill Cornell Medicine of Cornell University in 2013. Dr. Wong has built an active and successful research laboratory in the United States and he has been awarded an American Heart Association Scientist Development Grant, and a National Institute of Health Jump Start Award (NHLBI PCBC Jump Start Award) for his innovative research. Dr. Wong has recently relocated back to Hong Kong and become an Assistant Professor in School of Life Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Wong has published over 60 research papers and review articles in the area of vascular medicine and biology in high impact journals including Circulation, Circulation Research, Cell Metabolism, Hypertension, Diabetes, Antioxidants & Redox Signaling, Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, Cardiovascular Research, Journal of Hypertension, and Radiology (Citation over 2000 with a h-index of 28). Dr. Wong has attended a number of international and regional conferences, and received numerous awards and prizes at these meetings. Dr. Wong was awarded the Young Investigator Award in American Heart Association Scientific Sessions in 2011 and 2012. He was frequently invited to review manuscripts for many international scientific journals. Furthermore, Dr. Wong is currently an Academic Editor for Archives of Current Research International and an editorial board member for Food and Nutritional Sciences, Dataset Papers in Medicine, Vascular Medicine, and World Journal of Pharmacology. Dr. Wong has also served as a peer review committee member for the AHA study sections and as an external reviewer for University of Macao and for the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
