IHES has:
• Provided a variety of initiatives in the Caribbean and South America—supported IFHE membership for Organizations; funded workshops and conferences; provided disaster assistance recovery to schools in Antigua, Grenada and St. Lucia after hurricanes; and supported professionals to attend regional and AAFCS conferences.
• Provided partial financial support for professionals attending the IFHE Congresses since 2004.
• Supported training of female farmers to improve production, management and marketing of products and services in Novgorod, Russia.
• Worked in association with DAP to assist home economics programs in Puerto Rico, devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Marie, by sending supplies and teaching materials for classroom use plus canning equipment for use in food preservation workshops.
IHES is:
• Continuing to work with DAP and the University of Puerto Rico Extension Service in acquiring supplies and equipment; developing curricula; and establishing canning workshops in several locations in support of a Master Food Preservation Program.
• Working with community leaders to develop and provide training in income-generating activities for a women’s community program in Madina Village, Sierra Leone. • Working with DAP to establish Bahamian contact (s) in preparation for assistance to home economics programs following Hurricanes Dorian and Isaiah.
• Providing IHES Scholarships to eight international attendees at the 2022 IFHE World Congress, Atlanta, GA.
• Providing fabrics and sewing supplies for mask production efforts related to COVID – 19 pandemic.
