Fangxun Zhong, the director of iHEAR Lab, is currently an assistant professor at the School of Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-SZ). He is the Young Presidential Fellow of CUHK-SZ, and is also the joint assistant professor at School of Artificial Intelligence, CUHK-SZ. He received his PhD degree in 2021 from Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His main research interest covers autonomous robotic surgery, intelligent medical robotic system design, learning-driven 3D perception, etc. He has published over 40 papers in refereed journals and conferences, including first-authorship TRO, IJRR, TBME papers, and owned 3 patents. Dr. Zhong is an organizing committee member and an associate editor of the flagship robotics conference IEEE/RSJ IROS 2025, and was a program committee member for IEEE RCAR 2024. He is also a member of IEEE and IEEE RAS.
