Jungle & Nature

Only 45 minutes by car, in the heart of the jungle, there is a small refuge hidden amongst the vegetation on the shores of the mythical Parana River: La Lorenza. From here your guests will have different options to enjoy the biodiversity of the natural surroundings:

Walking the trails

Guests will be able to walk a trail through the jungle, rich in biodiversity (flora and bird species) endemic to the region, amongst which there are bromeliads, orchids, ferns and hummingbirds. If luck and nature provide the opportunity, there will be the chance to observe different species of birds.
A visit to a typical local house with its adjoining kitchen garden will be the perfect opportunity to learn from the local (indigenous) farmer about the world of Yerba Mate, the traditional local tea popular in Argentina, Paraguay and the south of Brazil. Your clients will also have the chance of learning about the importance of the jungle and the different medicinal herbs which the locals collect for their use.
After a walk of around 2 kilometers / 1.25 miles, the excursion finalizes on a private deck with wonderful views overlooking the Parana River where, over drinks and a cheese platter, they will be regaled with stories of local lore and legends.

Parana River Navigation

After a short walk to a small dock on the shore of the Parana River, a motorboat will take your clients 20 minutes upriver to the Yasy cascade, a local hidden gem of great beauty. In the intimacy of this breathtaking natural landscape, it is possible to go for a swim in the natural rock pool at the base of the fall, and maybe even allow the waterfall to provide a gentle massage.
The return trip, floating along the calm waters of the Parana, ends at a private deck with wonderful views where an appetizer will be served. Over drinks and a cheese platter, your clients will be regaled with stories of local curiosities and legends.

Walk and Kayak

A brief walk to the shore of the Parana River (the second longest in South America after the Amazon), will take the adventurers to where the kayaks are drawn up. A gentle paddle leads to one of the Parana’s tributaries: the Urugua-í river. The calm waters of this stream are perfect for contemplating nature and sharing the historical relationship of local communities with the river and the forest.
The return to dry land, after 2.5 miles of kayaking, leads to a 45 minute walk through the jungle to a private deck with wonderful views over the Parana River, where an appetizer will be served. Over drinks and a cheese platter, everyone will be regaled with stories of local curiosities and legends.
